In recent years the Dance Department at the college has thrived. Many students have progressed to professional dance schools and Universities and have now established successful careers in the dance industry. Success in Skills Challenge, Rock Challenge and excellent pass rates across all courses offered is testament to the high quality of teaching in the department.
The Dance Studios’ aim is to provide this high quality dance training across a variety of genres to boys and girls of all ages and experience.
Students will be able to follow a training system established by the ISTD or just attend for pleasure and the enjoyment that participation in dance gives.
Qualifications:
Exams will be available through the ISTD to those who wish to undertake them but they will by no means be compulsory.
Staff:
All staff are helpful, supportive, professionally trained and have enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checks and the relevant qualifications.
ISTD Training:
About the ISTD: The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is one of the world’s leading dance examinations boards. It covers the full spectrum of genres and for more than 100 years has provided training for dance teachers and examiners, enabling them to enter their students for examinations, develop new techniques and spread the joy of dance.
Location:
Situated in the Performing Arts block at the Chichester Campus the Dance Studios offers lessons delivered by qualified, enthusiastic teaching staff in fully equipped dance studios with sprung flooring. Parking facilities are excellent and parents could take advantage of the on site Chichester College Sports Centre with its state of the art gym. Historic Chichester, ideal for shopping and leisure, is less than 10 minutes walk from the college.
